At The Pup’s Place in Mattapoisett, we believe every dog deserves calm, patient, one-on-one care. Our grooming, daycare, day boarding, and training services are built around quality over quantity, allowing us to give every dog our full attention from the moment they walk through the door. We take time to understand each dog’s personality, needs, and comfort level so every visit feels safe, warm, and positive.

Jen
Owner and Groomer
Jen brings over 15 years of grooming experience along with a background in pre-vet studies and veterinary tech work.
She owns six dogs and has spent the past ten years competing in dog agility with her Border Collies, giving her a strong understanding of canine behavior and safe handling.
Jen is known for her calm approach, detailed grooming work, and genuine love for every dog who visits The Pup’s Place.
Marissa
Manager and Groomer
Marissa has 12 years of grooming experience and a talent for helping dogs feel relaxed from the moment they arrive. Marissa brings steady, skilled care to every grooming appointment.
She also competes in dog agility with her Border Collie, which gives her valuable insight into body language, movement, and comfort.
She has been a CGC Evaluator for over 5 years and have been working and training with Bob for longer than that.
Hannah
Groomer
Hannah brings 12 years of professional grooming experience along with a lifelong background in the dog world. She has been showing dogs for more than 25 years, and her family has been breeding Collies for over 50 years. Her deep knowledge of coat care, breed standards, and gentle handling makes her a trusted groomer for dogs of all ages and personalities.
Bob Fitzmaurice
Trainer and Daycare Leader
Bob brings more than 20 years of dog training experience to The Pup’s Place, working with puppies, adult dogs, and reactive dogs. He supervises daycare with a focus on safety, structure, and positive interactions, using his deep knowledge of canine behavior to guide play. Bob offers group classes, private lessons, CGC prep, and behavior support with patience, clarity, and a personalized approach.
Quality Care, Not Quantity
The Pup’s Place is proud to offer one-on-one grooming, meaning we work with one dog at a time and never stack appointments. Dogs are not kept waiting in crates for hours. They receive focused, gentle care from start to finish, in a calm environment designed for comfort.
Our daycare is intentionally small and supervised by a professional trainer. Dogs play together throughout the day with a midday nap to keep energy balanced. For dogs who prefer quiet time, our day boarding program offers a peaceful alternative with individual kennels, enrichment, and regular potty breaks.
Most of our grooming clients stay on a 6 to 8 week schedule, becoming long-term members of our Pup’s Place family. Their trust means everything to us.
